"During my time at Glasgow School of Art, I also studied Embroidery and Weaving for one year under the guidance of Chrissie White and Hannah Frew Patterson. This has had a major influence on my work and, by integrating the use of various mediums, textiles and stitch work; my paintings strive to give a more textural observation of the landscape.
After Graduation, I stopped working for a time to raise a family, but I have now returned to full-time painting in Cardross, Argyll and Bute. In 1998, I was commissioned by Dumbarton District Council to create a wall hanging and related paintings for the refurbishment of the Denny Civic Theatre, Dumbarton." - Carol Dewart
